On Jan. 14, Jehan Gordon took the oath of office, becoming the state representative for the 92nd District.
Gordon emerged victorious from a hard race and right into a political fire storm. Within weeks of her swearing-in, Gov. Rod Blagojevich was removed from office and she faced a huge state budget deficit.
On June 25, while in the district before the legislature began once again tackling budget talks, the Democrat faced a friendly crowd at the South-West Kiwanis Club, angry protesters at her North Peoria office and a group of Peoria Heights residents at a town hall meeting.
